What inspires me?
Almost everything. As soon as I open my eyes in the morning I see something that triggers questions, ideas and a sense of awe.
For almost two years I monitored a facebook group called Daily Sketchers. My goal was to inspire artists to draw every day and to see their environment, inside and outside, with a bit more curiosity.
I, too, have days when my level of inspiration is low. On those days, I opt for drawing plants. Within a minute, my curiosity is aroused, my pen or brush feels like an extension of my eyes and my heart fills with joy. Every plant I draw reveals something new to me; a pattern, shape, color, geometric configuration, texture, aroma, and sometimes even a hidden insect.
Generally, I avoid a dominant red/green color scheme. Plants have taught me that even colors I don't find compatible can be beautiful side by side.
